
Central Anatolia area rugs clarification
Rugs from the Ladik area are characterized a stylized tulip appearing both in
the field and the border. In Ladik prayer rugs, the tulips can be seen in panels
above and below the niche. Colors used include brilliant blues, reds and
yellows.
Designs from the Konya area are derived from pure geometrics. Large elementary
polygons, often stepped and hooked, are arranged in pairs or rows. borders are
notable for their shield motifs.
